I love creating outfits that have a statement piece and this one is a great example of that. If you want to draw attention to a certain item you're wearing, you could tone down everything else. In this case, I'm wearing a brightly colored and patterned pair of pants so I opted for a white blouse, shoes, and purse to keep the focus on the pants. You don't necessarily have to make everything besides the statement piece one color, just make sure the other items don't overpower what you're trying to show off (if that's what you're going for). If you're going for a bold look overall, then these rules obviously don't apply.
