Let me tell you about my first LUSH Cosmetics experience a few years ago. It was in Philadelphia and I was visiting a friend. We walked in just to look around and I ended up buying the Mint Julip Lip Scrub because I had been wanting a lip scrub for a while (and because it wasn't too expensive). I was just excited to be shopping in the city, to be quite honest. I ended up throwing it out a year or two later because I hadn't used it and it had been laying around too long.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I was walking around the King of Prussia mall with my friend. We visited a bunch of different stores and I didn't really see anything I was interested in...until we got to LUSH.

For those of you who haven't yet had the pleasure of the LUSH experience, let me illustrate it for you.

You walk into the store and you're not overwhelmed (I feel like that has a bit of a negative connotation) by all of the lovely smells, but you're drawn in by them. There are notes of florals, oils, and salts filling the air. Honestly, you feel clean and refreshed just walking around. There are heaps of products to sample and put in bags with cute little slogans on them and beautiful colors everywhere. You have to restrain yourself from picking up every single item you come across. And so on. The best part (or rather, parts) of LUSH is the extensive list of socially responsible choices the company has made and continues to work on:

  • Against Animal Testing
  • Fresh Cosmetics
  • Ethical Buying
  • 100% Vegetarian
  • Handmade
  • Naked Packaging (Less waste!!)

This was only my second visit to the store but I absolutely loved it and as soon as I left, I couldn't wait to go back. I ended up purchasing a Big Blue Bath Bomb, the Lip Scrub in Mint Julips, and another bath bar (bath bomb?) that I can't find on the website but smells like lavendar heaven. This is probably the closest alternative.

If you haven't checked out LUSH yet, here's a link to the site!

Are there any products you recommend? Or any to steer clear of? Let me know in the comments!

I'm so happy just imagining how good this all smells...(add drooly-face emoji here).

Make good choices,

M.K.
